Natalie & Keegan’s Awesome Autumn Elmhay Park Wedding

NATALIE + KEEGAN

Natalie is an Employment and Immigration Lawyer, and Keegan is a sound designer and composer. Their early dates were spent in theatres, soaking up musicals and plays—though these days, most of their energy goes into chasing after their fearless little boy, Miles.

Their story began when Keegan told Natalie she looked familiar—a terrible line, or so she thought, until they realized they’d actually spent four years at the same high school. That revelation led to an immediate first date (because how could they not?), and they later discovered they’d been unknowingly circling each other for years. Clearly, fate was playing the long game!

Keegan pulled off the ultimate surprise proposal in July 2022, outsmarting even Natalie’s sharp engagement radar. Disguised as a boozy brunch with her baby group mums, he led her to a theatre—fitting, since their first date was next door. With a fake work event, a staged tour, and a well-placed friend guiding Natalie and their son Miles into the auditorium, she followed a trail of fairy lights into a private box, where Keegan was waiting. Completely shocked (a miracle in itself), she, of course, said yes!

Elmhay Park was an easy choice—great vibe, great package, but most importantly, no curfew! With space for 70 guests just steps from the dance floor, they could party into the early hours and roll straight into bed. Celebrating without watching the clock sealed the deal.

Natalie and Keegan wanted a photographer who could capture the energy, joy, and real moments of their day without it feeling staged. Having photographed one of Natalie’s bridesmaids’ weddings, they loved my documentary style and focus on natural emotions, laughter, and all the little moments. More than anything, they wanted photos that let them relive the love and fun of the day. They also wanted a relaxed approach to portraits and group shots—just enough to get the key moments without spending ages posing, so they could get back to celebrating.

From the excitement of the champagne spray to the romance of golden hour, hopefully I captured it all. What a day!
