Anna & George’s Fun & Colourful Summer Marquee Wedding in Hampshire
ANNA + GEORGE
Set in the beautiful garden of Anna’s family home, this summer marquee wedding in Hampshire was a relaxed yet elegant celebration rooted in warmth, connection and joy. Anna and George’s story began eight years ago at Bristol University, where a house of ten strangers led to an unexpected spark and a first date — a secret Christmas trip to see Wicked — that set the tone for a relationship built on thoughtfulness and adventure. From fishing trips in Scotland to navigating life’s toughest moments side by side, their outdoorsy, down-to-earth nature made a family home garden marquee wedding in Hampshire the

More about Anna & George and some of the choices they made for their wedding
George had always known exactly where he wanted to propose: the riverbank in Scotland. After telling Anna’s mum his plans back in February, he went ring shopping with Anna’s cousin (and bridesmaid), Ellie — and then hid the ring in their bedroom for three long months. When Anna picked him up from the airport, he suggested heading straight to the river for a quiet drink and managed to convince her they should go on ahead of the others because of her bad knee. Anna chose to sit on the rocks by the water, forcing George into an awkward little detour so he could get down on one knee. Moments later, her family appeared with champagne and nibbles, making the moment even more special.
They kept the engagement a secret for a week so they could tell George’s family in person while visiting Italy — a detail that made the celebration feel even more meaningful. Both come from close-knit families and have a wide circle of loved ones they wanted to include, so a big wedding always felt right from the start.
Anna’s mum had often hinted that she’d love to host a wedding, and a marquee at the family home soon became the perfect choice. Having spent a year living there together during Covid, the house and the village mean a great deal to them both. It feels like the most natural place to bring everyone together.
When it comes to photography, they don’t want lots of formal, posed images. For them, the magic lies in natural moments — the warmth between family members, the joy of friends reconnecting, the little pockets of emotion that unfold throughout the day. Their hope is for a collection of photographs that captures all of those moments beautifully and tells the full story of their celebration.

“Alistair was the first professional I booked for my wedding. Having followed him for years his warmth and enthusiasm for every wedding he attends radiated in each picture he takes and I knew I wanted that energy at my wedding. His presence on the day exceeded my, already high, expectations. Alistair didn’t stage any pictures but blended into the background and captured the raw joy and emotion of our day.We can not wait to keep reliving our day through his photographs for ever.”
