This family shoot at West Wittering had it all — sudden (and very much unforecasted!) downpours right as we were due to start, a rumble of thunder, even a flash of lightning. Lesser souls might have called it off, but this wonderful family trusted my hunch to hold steady. With one eye on the horizon, the other on those shifting weather apps, and their patience shining through, we were rewarded with the most magical evening light.

The children were absolute stars — full of fun and energy, never letting the weather dampen their spirits. We laughed, we played, and as the storm rolled away, rainbows arched across the sky to crown it all in perfect style. 🌈

Proof that when you trust the process and embrace the unexpected, the most beautiful moments unfold.

I must admit, every wedding connects with me on a deeply personal and emotional level — I guess that’s just the nature of what I do and what I put into it. But this couple, and this day, reached a whole different level. Naveena and Richard were married in the very same church (St Simon Zelotes in Upper Chelsea) where my grandparents tied the knot almost 100 years ago, back in 1927!
.
And their reception venue, @ironmongershallweddings was rather special too! And so lovely to be able to take a stroll around nearby St. Pauls Cathedral towards the end of their day too.
.
What an absolutely beautiful wedding. I’ll be forever grateful to them, and to this beautiful path photography has taken me on — one that somehow weaves together the work I love with the roots of my own family story.
