Marriage Proposal Photography at Heckfield Place

SHE SAID YES! Sherina and Amit’s Marriage Proposal at Heckfield Place

“We received an enquiry for a private photography session for a marriage proposal”

That was the message received from the reservations team at Heckfield Place in late July. Being Heckfield Place’s recommended photographer I frequently get all sorts of wonderful photography assignments, from nature photography tuition to Family photoshoots and Wedding photography. However, this was my first marriage proposal to photograph..ever! Not just at Heckfield Place. So I was as nervous as anything. Well, with the exception of Amit I guess!

I exchanged messages with Amit in the run up to the planned day and time. Amit was going to take Sherina off for a walk on the Saturday afternoon of their stay at Heckfield Place, ending up at the beautiful pavilion by the lake for a picnic. I would be hiding in the bushes (not my usual thing to do you’ll be glad to know!) with my eye on the pavilion and camera at the ready.

From Amit:

“My man! These look amazing!!! Just downloaded all and am blown away! Appreciate all your efforts thank you again Alistair for making the moments so memorable”

All was set and we had a plan. What could possibly go wrong? Ah, the good old British weather; that’s what! It was the height of the summer but of course the weather had to play it’s part. Just before the pre-arranged time the heavens opened and showers of biblical proportions descended. Luckily I had this pretty accurate weather app (‘Drops’) which revealed that in an hour it would clear to lovely blue skies. Not a problem for me as I was treated to a gorgeous sandwich in the Moon Bar as I killed some time.

Sure enough, just as I took my last bite the sun re-emerged and we were on! Off I set down to my dodgy hiding place in the bushes. Soon enough footsteps became audible and my camera was engaged into action. Burst mode on!

It was a wonderful moment to witness but of course it was more about making sure I captured the moment in the best way possible. Through the tears of joy Sherina said YES and I then spent some time with them capturing all the emotions and their first few moments together as husband and wife to be!

Congratulations to the happy couple, it was beautiful and a real honour to capture this wonderful moment for them and I wish them all the very best for their future together.

Thank you,

p.s. are you planning to propose and want the moment and all the feelings captured beautifully? Then please do get in touch.
