Well, as we saw in pt.1, Friday was absolutely gorgeous. But as I quipped to them at some point during part 2 at Tylney Hall on Saturday, I really didn’t think they could raise the bar any higher… yet somehow they managed to do exactly that!
.
If Friday was all about the grace, elegance and the biggest moment of all when they officially became Mrs & Mr, Saturday had all of that too… but with a wonderfully different feel. As more family and friends arrived (along with the Alpacas!), the celebrations evolved into the most relaxed, joy-filled garden party. Sunshine, drinks flowing, lawn games, endless chatting, laughter, hugs and that lovely feeling of everyone simply enjoying being together.

Then, as the evening rolled around, the tempo gradually lifted, the dance floor came alive (with a fabulous ceileidh!) and the perfect weekend celebration finished exactly as it deserved to… surrounded by the people they love most, with huge smiles, great music and an atmosphere that was an absolute joy to be part of.

Another one of those weddings… The kind where I’m

Another one of those weddings…

The kind where I’m so completely immersed in the day that I almost forget just how much is unfolding in front of me.

Not because I’m simply pressing the shutter, but because every frame is about anticipation, instinct and waiting for the moments that matter most.

Then comes the edit…

And suddenly it all comes rushing back.

One incredible moment after another. The emotion. The laughter. The pride. The military tradition. The elegance. The absolute joy. And two brilliantly down-to-earth people soaking up every second of it.

It’s one of the things I love most about documentary wedding photography. Living the story once while I’m photographing it… then getting the privilege of reliving it all over again as it takes shape on screen.

Some weddings really do have it all...
Spectacular venues. Historic surroundings. Military uniforms. Elegance. Grandeur. Timeless traditions.
But what made Hannah & Connor’s wedding truly unforgettable wasn’t any of that.
It was THEM.
So wonderfully down to earth, completely present, and absolutely revelling in every single moment. From the biggest celebrations to the quietest glances, they were simply swept along by the incredible love, energy and support of their amazing family and friends.
Days like this remind me that, however spectacular the setting, it’s always the people who make a wedding extraordinary.
What an honour it was to tell their story. I genuinely think I’ll be pinching myself about this one for a very long time.
Congratulations Hannah & Connor, you total legends you!

What an absolute pleasure it was to capture such a love-filled day at Tylney Hall Hotel, surrounded by the people who mean the most. Happy one-week anniversary, Susan & John! ❤️

Some weddings take me hundreds of miles from home. This one started literally on my doorstep.

From bridal preparations just across the road, to the church and then the village hall reception, every part of Faye & George’s wedding took place right here in my home village of Old Basing. For once, I left home on foot with my cameras and walked back again at the end of the night and I absolutely loved it!

A few weeks before the wedding, we realised there was one small complication… the wedding day coincided with the village Carnival. Suddenly, navigating between locations without getting caught up in the parade looked like it might be a challenge!

But rather than avoid it, we decided to embrace it.

Faye had challenged me to come up with some interesting locations for their couple photos, and it quickly became obvious that the carnival itself was too good an opportunity to miss. So we headed straight into the middle of it all — vintage cars, coconut shies, fairground stalls and those wonderfully nostalgic seaside peep-through board thingys.

The result? Couple photos that couldn’t have been taken anywhere else, and a set of images that feel completely unique to their day and to the village they, and I, call home.
